Jeffries, Ph.D. — a certified food handler and retired academic who brings both science and soul to the art of preservation. In just two hours, you'll explore the rich history of canning in the African-American community, learn the essential tools and techniques for safe, high-quality results, and walk away with a jar of canned produce you made yourself. All supplies are provided — all you need to bring is your curiosity. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply looking to build your confidence in the kitchen, this workshop is designed to meet you where you are. Space is limited to ensure a personal, hands-on experience for every participant.
